A Unique Circuit and a Remarkable Tone
The Harmonic Percolator is a rare and highly sought-after, fuzz pedal produced by Interfax in small numbers in the 1970's. The Harmonic Percolator has a unique hybrid Ge/Si circuit design and because of its unique design features, the pedal's circuitry is designed to favor even-order harmonics. The even-order harmonics create the unique and captivating smooth musical sonic character of the Harmonic Percolator. Even though the Harmonic Percolator is capable of high levels of fuzz, it retains a surprising amount of clarity and definition, Dial up the volume and pull back the harmonic knob and you have a beautiful dynamic clean tone rich and blossoming with tone. Turn up both knobs and you have searing distortion.
The SkullFXR Harmonic PERK
The germanium transistor is hand selected to find the one that not only specs in range, but also sounds best in each unit. I incorporate a switch to leave the NOS 1N60P or USSR D18 germanium diodes in or out of circuit giving you two different distinct feel. Premium USSR PIO input and output caps, ERO or Philips Electrolytic, and carbon composition resistors throughout.
